Utility-scale Pilot Project Solar Array
over the I-10 Level Top Canal
The I-10 Level Top Canal Solar project is now built on the Gila River Indian Community canal system. The project is developed by the Pima-Maricopa Irrigation Project P-MIP with funding support by US Army Corps of Engineers. The 876 kWdc nameplate size project is located along the I-10 freeway, south of Phoenix, just outside the Wild Horse Pass Casino. Future phases of work involve covering the Casa Blanca canal at 16 miles which would result in a 33 MWdc nameplate project size. The Solar River project design and patented by Solar River LLC and prime engineer is George Cairo Engineering, construction by USACE.
